History of the Marion Collegiate Institute: Any student detected in the act of playing, at any game of chance, chewing or smoking tobacco within the building, using immodest or profane language, or performing any other act whereby the reputation of the school may be injured, will be regarded as unworthy of continued membership in the school.

'A good reason not to dust too often is so men will know where to put things back!'

September 10 - Roast Beef Supper at Marion Legion Home.

Last Sunday, members of the congregation at the Second Reformed Church celebrated the 14th anniversary of Pastor Don and Judy White and family, being part of the Church family.

The following recipe for Peanut Pie was enjoyed at our Labor Day picnic.

one unbaked pastry shell, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup honey, 1/2 cup dark corn syrup, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 and 1/4 cup chopped peanuts, 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Combine ingredients and bake at 425 for 10 minutes.

Reduce to 375 degrees for 30 minutes, until set in center. Tent with foil for last 10 minutes if browning too quickly. (Maybe topped with cool whip and a dash of cinnamon.)

SEPTEMBER 13, 1934: The faculty of Marion Consolidated School with the members of the Board of Education as guest of the faculty enjoyed a picnic at Crescent Beach, Pultneyville last Thursday.

This evening is the WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE - sponsored by the Yearbook Club.

September 15 - Eighth-grade Parent Night.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - in September 1976 - Millard and Linda Fuller called together a group of supporters to discuss their dream of eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity International as an organization was born at this meeting. Nearly 30 years of hard work have set HFHI on a successful course. With the help of faithful supporters, the dream of eliminating poverty housing will one day become a reality.

Thank you ... everyone in the community who supported the pig roast, over the weekend, sponsored by the German Club at the Marion High School. That's what people do when they live in a small town. Support each other, no matter what the situation.

Don't forget the Harvest Festival that's coming up on the weekend of September 24, 25 and 26. Pre sale tickets are now available for the Chicken BBQ which proceeds go to pay the umpires for the home games of the Marion Legion Baseball boys and girls team.
