New column for Digital Edition

A new weekly column appears today with the three other regular Friday postings of columns on this page.

The column, By the Numbers, is just a listing of miscellaneous figures compiled through a variety of sources. Some government websites were consulted, and some numbers were gleaned through responses to e-mails.

We hope you enjoy the new column and share some of your numbers with us. You can e-mail them with the subject line 'Numbers for Donna.'
