Davis to speak at Coin Club meeting Wayne County Coin Club will meet at the American Legion Hall, 200 East Union Street, Newark, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6. Following a short business meeting, Historian Chris Davis of Newark will tell about his collecting interests - both coins and bottles. Because of Davis's intention to share his knowledge of local history as well as his collecting interests, the club wants to invite all the young people of Wayne County to this meeting. The talks usually conclude around 8:30. The meeting will end with an auction of numismatic items. While the offerings are unknown until the night of the meeting they usually include U.S. coins and paper money as well as foreign coins, medals and even wooden nickels of local interest. Anyone interested in the collecting and preserving of any type of items used for money, be it coins, bills, tokens or even wooden nickels as well as the medallist art is welcome to attend the meeting. Most meetings are attended by at least three members who are not only collectors but have been dealers for many years. They are qualified to both appraise and are anxious to buy numismatic items. Annual dues are $3.
