Newark school chief issues alert

Business owners should be aware that a New York City-based company selling advertising for a fall sports poster has no affiliation with the Newark Central School District.

Superintendent Robert Christmann said no portion of the monies merchants are paying for the advertisements are being used to help support school district athletic programs.

'We feel it is essential to clear up any confusion that might be resulting from these sales,' he said.

Christmann said the Newark High School Gridiron Club is currently selling advertisements for its football programs, and money from these sales does help support Newark High School football.
