Lioness Club has picnic, new officers

The Lioness Club of Sodus installed their officers for the 2005-2006 year. The women enjoyed a potluck picnic at the home of Lioness Donna Hontz, and followed the meal with an installation ceremony.

Officers are: President Betsy Wahl, 1st Vice President Mary Ann Riker, 2nd Vice President Martha Miller, Secretary Karen Buyck, Quarterly Report Sec. Lynn Polochock, Treasurer Kathy Holtz, Assistant Treasurer Joyce Dwyer, Tamer/Twister Darcy Davidson, Past Pres.

Directors will be Sue Minier, Marie DeWispelaere, Dianne Raethka; Historian/Photographer are Deb DeRoo and Sandra Hall

This Sodus organization was chartered in 1992 and has taken on many service projects:

Adopt-A-Highway clean up; Blossom View Victorian Tea; Olde Tyme Country Fair booth (games for children, cookie sale, eye glass collection); Breakfast with Santa; Blossom View Christmas gift-giving in conjunction with the Sodus Lions Club; Photoscreening Clinics for young children early detection of eye problems; projects with residents of the Sodus ARC home; support of scholarships for seniors at Sodus and BOCES; support of an eye clinic in India through former Soduskan Bhvanna Dee DeCew; and a Pen Pal project with an Auroville, Indiana women's group.
