Bus fire this morning in Arcadia

An early morning fire at Arcadia Transportation Co. on Rt. 31 East, resulted in one bus being destroyed and two severely damaged. Marbletown and Newark Fire Departments were summoned to the bus company by Wayne County 911, at 4:33 a.m. when a passerby reported the blaze on his cell phone. Quick response by firemen saved several buses from further damage.

New York State Police are investigating the cause of the incident, which according to firemen, appears to be electrical. No one was injured, and the firemen were back in service at 5:32 a.m.

The Arcadia Transportation Company is owned by the Roberts family of Newark.
