Running for Lyons Town Council

Terry VanStean was appointed by the Lyons Republican Committee to Fill Vacancies to run as Town Councilman in the November 8 election.

The position, originally won by Edward Marriott at the June caucus, became vacant when Marriott, citing personal reasons, decided to withdraw his name from the race.

VanStean, 53, is employed at IBM in Rochester, worked actively in the high school sports program and coached PAL league baseball. He enjoys local politics, has a keen interest in Lyons government and looks forward to the coming election. He is the father of three children and lives with his wife, Valerie, on Phelps Street.

VanStean and fellow Republican incument Earl Buchannan will face off against Democrats Gerry Clingerman and incumbent Larry Hartwell.
