Scholarship winner from Sodus

Danielle Fry of Sodus has been awarded $11,500 for the 'Excellence in Education Scholarship' to attend Alfred State College.

Fry will graduate in 2006 from Sodus Central School and intends to enroll in the veterinary technology program.

The 'Excellence in Education Scholarship' (free tuition, room and board) is awarded to students who possess a 93 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1200 combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 26; students must apply for financial aid.

Recipients must maintain a required grade point average to continue to receive funding in subsequent semesters.

Alfred State offers some 60 associate degree programs, 13 baccalaureate degree programs, and several certificate programs.
