Area libraries accepting old cell phones Your library staff is collecting cell phones for victims of domestic violence. Do you ever wonder what you should do with your old cell phone? Your old cell phone could save a life. Libraries are participating in the Make-A-Connection cell phone collection program that will benefit victims of domestic violence and the Victim Resource Center of the Finger Lakes, Inc. Participating public libraries: Newark, Lyons, Marion, Ontario, Palmyra Kings Daughters, Red Creek, and the Sodus Free Library. Used cell phones in working and non-working condition are being collected. All working phones can be used as emergency 911 phones for domestic violence victims. Non-working phones are recycled and used to raise funds for the agency. Phones can be dropped off at the participating library locations or at the Victim Resource Center office.
