FLSO concert Sunday in Newark The Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra will perform in a Winter Concert on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m., at Newark Middle School, 701 Peirson Ave. Two members of The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, violinist Lee Wilkins and violist David Hult, are featured soloists in Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante. Also on the program, conducted by Nancy Strelau, is Symphony No. 2 by Tchaikovsky. Wilkins is Associate Professor of Music/Jack L. Frank Instructor at the Eastman School of Music and has been Concertmaster of the Erie Philharmonic for 13 years. He was recently invited to perform as a soloist with the Shumen Philharmonic in Bulgaria, as well as with the Marienbad Philharmonic in the Czech Republic. In addition, Wilkins composed a full-length comic ballet, 'The Little Mermaid,' which has been performed by three ballet companies since 1993. Hult is the Coordinator of Strings at Nazareth College of Rochester, where he's been a member of the faculty for 17 years. He is also Concert Master of the Rochester Oratorio Society. Hult is a frequent guest on National Public Radio and has performed as a soloist for the Juilliard Chamber Players. As a violinist he has been Concertmaster of many orchestras, including the United Nations Symphony and the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, as well as Concertmaster for many Broadway musicals. Hult received his Bachelor's Degree from the Eastman School of Music and his Master and Doctorate of Music degrees from the Juilliard School. Tickets are $6; admission for children under 12 is free.
