Discussing the future of Lyons Library The Lyons Public Library Board of Trustees has evaluated the results of its community survey as a follow up to the failure of last November's Bond Referendum. The survey, conducted in December and January by The Barrows Group, was designed to determine which aspects of the project were of concern to the community. The public rejected the Library Board's plans to relocate and expand the Library, moving the facility into the former Lyons Community Hospital. People responding to the survey were asked to prioritize various aspects of the plan. The Library Board of Trustees believes that the results of the survey will guide them as they consider their building options and the future plans of the Library. Prior to the bond referendum, the Library conducted group presentations and public meetings in order to inform residents about its plans. Now, the Board encourages the public to attend an open meeting this Thursday, February 17, at 5 p.m., in the lobby of the Lyons National Bank's main branch, on William Street. Members of The Barrows Group, development consultants to the Library, will present the results of the survey. The Library Board of Trustees will respond to questions, concerns, and accept input from the community at the meeting. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Lyons National Bank. For details, call the library at 315.946.9262.
