County seeks financial advice
By Donna Comella

This morning, Wayne County Supervisors agreed to accept a lending hand offered by area businessmen.

Coming into this year, the county faced serious financial concerns, and had to increase the property tax rate by over 11 percent. Ongoing discussions prior to December's completion of a 2005 budget have led to the county authorizing the establishment of a Fiscal Analysis Team. The team will review all fiscal operations and meet with department heads, and make recommendations to the board for the coming year.

The Team will include the County Fiscal Manager/Deputy Budget Officer Keith Kubasik, former County Sheriff and former NYS Assemblyman James Hurley of Arcadia, David Williamson, who owns the area Pal-Mart stores, James Hollingsworth of Ontario, Paul Johnson of Newark, Sergei Bartishevich of Lyons, Greg Viola of Newark, Refractron exec Bob Stanton of Walworth, Willard Milliman of Macedon and Eugene Roling of Savannah.
