Mark calendars for donating blood

American Red Cross announces community blood drives:

• Tuesday, March 1, 2 to 7 at Marion American Legion, 4141 Witherden Road.
• Monday, March 7, 1 to 6 at Macedon Town Hall, 32 Main St.
• Tuesday, March 22, 1:30 to 6:30 at Newark Elks Lodge, 223 South Main St.
• Monday, March 28, 2 to 7, Second Baptist Community Center, 3697 Main St., Walworth.
• Tuesday, March 22, the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding a special Clara Barton Drive at the Newark Elks in recognition of 'March is Red Cross Month.'

The canteen volunteers will be dressed in vintage Red Cross uniforms, circa 1942, and we will be raffling off gifts and prizes from area businesses every half hour.

Need for blood is urgent; there is only a two-day supply of blood in the New York-Penn region.

If you are between 17 and 65, weigh at least 100 lbs. and are in good health, plan to donate at one of the drives listed. Call 331.3783 for more information.
