Antique Dealers give grants to societies Grants totaling $1360 have been awarded by the Wayne County Antique Dealers Association to support projects of three historical societies. Arcadia Historical Society was awarded $110 toward their project of framing circus posters and the marriage certificate of Joseph Miller, Jr. Historic Palmyra was given $450.00 for the preservation of circus and store posters in the William Phelps General Store Collection. Red Creek Historical Society was awarded $800 towards the renovation of part of the former Becker Pharmacy at 13986 Water Street. Seven applications were reviewed in the ninth year of the annual partnership grant program, which was initiated by the Antique Dealers Association in 1996, to provide continuous cumulative support for the historical, cultural and creative life of Wayne County. Applications for grants to supplement ongoing or new projects will be available to Wayne County chartered historical societies again in the fall of 2005.
