Newark woman spends year abroad
She is a 1998 Newark High School graduate. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology at SUNY Cortland, finishing in 2002. At Lancaster University in England, she recently earned her Master of Science, Psychological Research Methods. Lancaster University, United Kingdom, was founded in 1964. It is a top institution for research and teaching. The Chancellor is Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, a cousin to Queen Elizabeth. Miller said, 'I spent a year over there and stayed over for Christmas. I traveled around a bit, but with the course load it was hard to take advantage of what was around me. I spent New Year's in Limerick and Cork, Ireland with one of my Irish friends. In the summer months, my friend, Matt, and I visited our friends in Denmark and Norway. We went to Copenhagen first and then traveled by ferry to Oslo. Both places were amazing. I also traveled around England a bit and made the trek down to London for three days.' She traveled around up north, because that's where Lancaster is located. She and her friends were frequent visitors to the Lake District. It is about an hour away from the university and has plenty of routes for walks and climbs around the mountains and lakes. She is looking for a job anywhere and would consider going back to England to work for a year or so.
