Learn about horticulture

While the snow flies many area gardeners can grow their expertise by taking Horticulture classes through local Cornell Cooperative Extension offices.

Practical hands-on experiences abound and there are many great guest speakers who share research findings and traditional knowledge of botany, compost utilization, entomology, plant identification, plant pathology, soils, and vegetable gardening.

Certificate programs include the Basic Horticulture and Advanced Landscape Technician training offered in Newark and Rochester beginning January 31, while regional Master Gardener training starts January 26 in Canandaigua and Rochester preparing volunteers for educational roles with Extension.
