Short-term stay offered at County Home

Caregivers: Want to go away but can't leave Mom or Dad alone? If you are the primary caregiver for a relative or friend and need a break or a vacation, consider a respite/short-term stay program.

The new Wayne County Nursing Home on Nye Rd. in Lyons has two rooms designated for respite/short-term stay services. Respite/short-term care is designed for intermittent use.

It temporarily supports the caregivers role in caring for a chronically ill person who lives in the community and needs 24-hour care or supervision. The caregiver is expected to resume care after the respite/short- term stay, which typically is for a limited time (one to 13 days).

The single rooms are furnished and have storage for clothing and personal belongings. Nursing staff will assist with personal care and in administering medications.

Call Molly Chapin, Admission Coordinator at 946.5673 or visit www.co.wayne.ny.us and follow the links for Respite/Short-term stay.
