Happenings Jason Tack, son of Steve and Mary Tack of 3445 Sandhill Road, Marion, has been named to the Dean's List at St. John Fisher College. Jason is a junior majoring in Accounting. In Fairport, I presented my 'Outhouse' program to a Senior group. Table decorations consisted of a mug with yellow pompoms, a slab of wood with a cut-out half-moon and a fluffy bow made from white, patterned bathroom issue. Remember - Marion Library open house on Wednesday, January 26 from 2 to 8 p.m. Nancy Van Hall was a recent hospital patient. Have you tried a breakfast at the Bee Skep Restaurant, on a Sunday morning after church? Sunday, I tried the stuffed French toast with berry topping and warm maple syrup. (Just one of the special menu items) January 21, ninth-grade Activity Night 'Forget the health food, I need all the preservatives I can get.' January 18, 1951: John Davis, director of civilian defense for the town of Marion, has requested volunteer air raid spotters, nurse's aides, and volunteers for general duty. 36 model UN students attended the 'Cinnamon Conference' in Syracuse. Although Marion was one of the smallest schools attending, we had the largest delegation. Cara Walker represented Chile in the Security Council. Paul McCarthy represented Poland in the Warsaw Pact and Jess Schoonerman and Melissa Cummings represented government officials in the Israeli, Palestine cabinet simulation. Students were able to hear presentations for keynote speakers on: Scramble for Africa, Lost Boys of Sudan, Antibiotic Monopolies, Immunization and Anti-Americanism in Foreign Policy. A special thanks to the students who attended last minute: Chris Wyman, Brad Reiss, Craig Butler and Audrey Tuma.
