Happenings The United Church of Marion chicken & biscuits dinner is Monday, Jan. 31, 4:30 until it's gone! The church is located at 3848 North Main Street. Take-outs available; prices are $7 and $3.50, with kids under 5 eating free of charge. The ice harvesting at Millers Mills, will be Sunday, Feb. 13. Call me if you need more information. Dear Dan: Boy, did it snow! We stayed inside and watched TV and Gord had fun blowing the snow out of the driveway with his snowblower. I tried some new recipes, one of which is Frosty Orange Pie, which I have in the freezer for Super Bowl Sunday. Our family came to dinner last Sunday in celebration of our anniversary and Sue's Jan. 20 birthday. He is one of four students that represented area colleges and universities. Mom's Celery Soup Rinse celery. Cut through the total bunch, having graduated size pieces of celery and leaves. Simmer celery and leaves in one quart water and six chicken bouillon cubes for 15 minutes. Make roux with one stick margarine and one cup flour Add slowly, two quarts of 2% milk, stirring until smooth. Add cooked celery and broth and one teaspoon celery seed. On our own for lunch and shopping, we will regroup for the 2 p.m. matinee performance of the musical hit, 'Wicked.' The performance will be followed by a delightful dinner buffet at the Town & Country Buffet Restaurant, arriving home about 9:30 p.m. The price for this day of inter-congregational fellowship is $149 perperson.
