Pioneer Gas Engine plans 41st reunion The Pioneer Gas Engine Association will be holding its 41st Annual Reunion Show next week, July 29 and 30. The show will be held at The Marion Town Park. The annual event is host to antique gas engines, tractors, an antique Case Steam engine, and farming equipment, all on display through P.G.E.A's members. All-Weekend events will include stone crushing demonstrations, tractors running a Dynometer, Blacksmith and Tinsmith demonstrations, and parades daily. Saturday: Children's pedal tractor pull starting at 11. There will be raffle tickets on sale at the headquarters building, for a 50/50 raffle, as well as for an afghan. Tickets are $1 each. There will be refreshments for sale, as well as a flea market, open every day. Running on both Friday and Saturday through out the day will be the cakewalk Raffles as well. This event will feature donated baked goods, cakes, cookies, and much more. There will be awards for engine displays for adults and kids; most horsepower, longest distance traveled, etc. The popular Antique Tractor pulls will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 5. . There will also be a 'Dead Weight' pull on Saturday morning starting at 11. (All tractor pull participants must hold a current 2005 membership, and Club tractor pull rules will be posted.) The Pioneer Gas Engine Association is a non-profit organization, created as a fellowship to promote preservation and exhibition of Antique Gas Engines, tractors and farm/allied equipment. Many rare and unique items have been found on display over the years at the shows. See the many sizes, horsepower and brands of antique tractors. See these powerhouses put to the test during dynometer demonstrations, and dead-weight and sled pulls. Gate hours are Friday and Saturday: 9 to 9. Admission is $2 per person, or a 2005 membership, and children under 12 are free. Membership costs are $4 per person or $6 per family.
