Take part in the Fair The Wayne County Fair, August 15-20 in Palmyra is approaching. The fair has many competitions that any one, any age can enter. Youth Competitions: Domestic Department - Youth can enter their school projects, crafts, artwork, photography, etc. in a Youth class or an Adult class depending on the item. Talent Show, - The Wayne County Fair has a talent show on Monday, August 15 sponsored by Ontario National Bank. All winners receive a premium, savings bond and ribbon. Veggie Races - On Saturday, August 20, youth can enter the Veggie race by making their own car from vegetables (supplied at the competition) and race for prizes. Prince/Princess - If you have a young child or grandchild who would love to wear a crown and be a Princess or Prince for one hour, enter their name on Tuesday, August 16 or Friday, August 19 at the Fair's Queen's Booth. They will draw names and call the winners to spend an hour with the Fair Royalty on Youth Days. Coloring Competition - On Youth Days, Wednesday, August 17 and Saturday, August 20, youth can color a picture for prizes given by the Fair Queen/Princess and courts. Adult Competitions: Domestic Department - There are numerous categories that adults can enter in the domestic department. Craft items, sewn items, needlework, quilting, photography and woodworking are just a small sample. Fruits/Vegetables - If your garden is producing great results, enter your fruits and vegetables in the Open Class competitions. Flowers/Houseplants - If you have given tender loving care to your flowers and houseplants, the Wayne County Fair has a competition that you can enter. Demolition Derby - Enter Wayne County Fair's most popular event - the Demolition Derby or the Figure 8 competition. Entry forms are available at Bell's Body Shop or Pulcini & Sons in Palmyra or on the Fair's web site. All of the above and more can be entered in the Wayne County Fair regardless of your age and if you live in Wayne, Monroe, Ontario, Yates, Stueben or Wyoming Counties.
