Newark Kiwanis Club secures grants

The Kiwanis Club of Newark has teamed up with Wal-Mart to administer the Wal-Mart Foundation Grant to the Community.

The foundation has forwarded the sum of $3000 to the Kiwanis Club for administration and disbursement. This is the third year of partnership between Kiwanis and Wal-Mart.

Funds will be used for the Newark Library Summer Children/Teen Program, Newark Police Department - Lincoln School PTA Bike Rodeo, the Senior Nutrition Site run by Home Meal Services, an After School Program for at-risk children at the Alex Eligh Community Center, and the Free Lunch Program at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Kiwanis Club President, Sandi Marcano, will forward the funds to the various groups for use in these programs. The community sends thanks to the Wal-Mart Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Newark for helping make these programs possible.
