Toe Ring Contest at the Point The Bay Haven Gift Shop in Sodus Point held its First Annual Toe Ring Party/Contest on Saturday, May 28. The contest seemed intriguing. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I contacted the owner, Rosemary Murphy to find out more. She said the event was fun and successful. I wasn't sure if people who entered were wearing their own toe rings from home or if they were rings that were offered at the shop. According to Rosemary, for the most part people did not attend the contest with their toes decorated. To allow people to feel comfortable, they advertised the fact that people were welcome with or without their toes decorated. The end result came about when people's names were drawn simply because no one person stood out as being the winner. They had foot cookies decorated with edible toe rings.. even the punch was decorative. It was served in interesting glasses with flip flop wine markers. How cute! Unique toe rings that fit all tastes and budgets were offered, as well as De La Mer Swimwear, Dorfman Pacific Hats and more. Many people loved and purchased the unique offerings that were displayed by Allie's Funky Jewelry and fun Flip Flops handcrafted by Winnie. If you missed this competition there will be a second event most likely in May of next year, with a plan to include more options, including some fun services. (Thank you, Rosemary, for letting me know what the contest was all about. It sounds like everyone had a great time.)
