Adult Summer Reading Club in Lyons

Registration for the Lyons Public Library adult summer reading program Summer Sizzle is June 20 to July 1. Adults are encouraged to participate in the reading club, which runs from July 3 - August 13.

Participants are encouraged to read books, magazines, newspapers or audiobooks each week. Participants will fill out a cutout and bring it to the library each week in order to get their weekly reading prize. The library is also hosting three programs of interest for adults.

July 13 at 6:30 p.m. the library will show a new DVD staring Will Smith.

July 28 at 7 p.m. the library will host a travelogue about Alaska in which several people will discuss their trips to the state.

Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. the Genesee Country Museum will present a program called Objects from History.

All of these programs are free. Only those participants who have read for all six weeks are eligible for the grand prize, which is a $30 gift certificate to the Smith Opera House.

An awards ceremony will be held Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. 946.9262.
