Black Tie optional for Gala The Wayne County Historical Society invites the community to its Spring Gala on Saturday, March 19. This fun-filled, black-tie-optional evening will take place at the Chart House Restaurant at the Newark Quality Inn. A cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7. Dancing to music by 'Intrigued' will follow dinner. A silent auction will be open throughout the evening. The Spring Gala is a major fund-raising event for the Wayne County Historical Society, which operates the Wayne County Museum in Lyons. The Spring Gala coincides with the grand re-opening of the museum after three months of extensive renovations. Tickets are available by calling the Wayne County Museum at 315.946.4943. Tickets for members of the Historical Society are $50 per person or $100 per couple. Tickets for non-members are $70 per person or $125 per couple and include a year-long membership in the Wayne County Historical Society. Anyone interested in serving as a table captain can contact the museum for more information. Table captains are responsible for rounding up ten people to fill an entire table for dinner. All table captains receive a special thank-you gift. To find out more about the Spring Gala, or to purchase tickets, call 315.946.4943 or e-mail info@waynehistory.org
