Marion man honored by GardenScape Nursery Person of the Year Ken Hill, owner of Rolling Hills Landscape in Marion, was named Nursery Person of the Year by the GardenScape Professionals Association at their annual meeting late last month. The Nursery Person of the Year is selected on the basis of long-term contributions to the local regional and state organizations of Nursery and Landscape Associations and to all horticultural endeavors. 'We're proud to present Ken with this prestigious award,' says Bob Kretzer, executive director of the GardenScape Professionals Association. 'His outstanding contributions to the green industry are a reflection of the level of commitment and passion Ken has for horticulture.' Ken has been in the landscaping industry for more than 30 years and has received numerous awards including being inducted into the 2001 Nurseryman's Hall of Fame. He has owned Rolling Hills Landscape for over 15 years and is a Senior Certified Nursery Professional. Rolling Hills Landscape is a full-service landscape company and employs several Certified Nursery Professionals. Certified Nursery Professionals (CNPs) have a minimum of three years work experience in the industry, take a rigorous proficiency examination administered by the New York State Nursery & Landscape Association, and must maintain an on-going educational program. Ken is past president of the Genesee-Finger Lakes Nursery and landscape Association (GardenScape Professionals Association), and regional and state certification chairs. He is past state membership chair and past president of the New York State Nurseryman's Foundation.
