Newark-Arcadia Museum News The Newark-Arcadia Historical Society will soon be at work on a new exhibit - 'The Arts & Entertainment in Newark.' The society is looking for loans, and donations, of artifacts pertaining to this subject. Objects and photographs are needed in the following categories (preferably 1960s or before): Paintings by Newark artists or of Newark scenes (especially any pre-1920s!) or other works of art, photographs of musicians, musical groups, performances at the Bandstand, Rose Gardens amphitheatre, Becken's Park; theater or musical performances at the Capital Theater, Sherman Opera House, or others; Newark movie posters, photo of Rose City Drive In; Literature by Newark authors; School of Dance; photos of acting/drama groups; artifacts from the theaters or opera house including seats, tickets, programs. Contact the Exhibits Committee with any offers of loans or donations by visiting the Museum (Saturdays, 1-3 p.m., or by appt.), 331.6409.
