Columnist to speak in Newark The Friends of the Newark Public Library are sponsoring Mark Hare, Metro Columnist for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, at the May 13, noon book review luncheon at Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court entrance. Hare's talk is titled 'Conversations with Readers.' He'll talk about how he tries to connect with readers and what he learns from them along the way and then open it up for comments or questions. He has written for the Democrat and Chronicle since September 1978, as a Reporter, Editorial Writer, Deputy Editorial Page Editor, Editorial Page Editor and presently, Metro Columnist. Prior to that, he was a teacher at Nazareth Academy and a reporter and columnist at City Newspaper, both of Rochester. Reservations are limited and are needed by May 11. Call 331.4370.
