Missing Sodus This week's weather was really nice. Hope everybody got to get outside and enjoy it. Nice to feel the warm sunshine. (Not so warm today, though.) To members of the Great Sodus Bay Association: There will be a reception at the Sodus Bay Lighthouse for Bradley D. McCreary on Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. Please come and welcome Bradley, as the new director for the Lighthouse and enjoy some refreshments. A neat grilling idea from Kraftfoods.com Citrus Barbecued Chicken Breasts Makes: 6 servings
MIX barbecue sauce, orange peel and juice. Reserve 1/2 cup of the barbecue sauce mixture. Pour remaining barbecue sauce mixture into shallow baking dish. Add chicken; turn to evenly coat both sides of each chicken breast. Cover. REFRIGERATE 30 min. to marinate. Drain; discard marinade PREHEAT greased grill to medium heat. Grill chicken 12 to 15 min. or until tender and no longer pink in centers (170F), turning and brushing occasionally with the reserved 1/2 cup barbecue sauce mixture after 8 min. A great Kraft substitute: Prepare as directed, using KRAFT THICK 'N SPICY Honey Barbecue Sauce. Sounds good, and we all need easy. Fix some corn on the cob and maybe a salad and a great summery meal is ready to eat. The draft for the Comprehensive plan is now on the chamber web site at www.sodusny.com , just click on Community and Government, then click on Town of Sodus Comprehensive (Master) Plan, then click on (purple) Comprehensive plan DRAFT in the center of the page. The public meeting to discuss the plan is scheduled for Monday, May 16 at the Wallington Fire Hall starting at 7 p.m. Tomorrow, the Tall Ship Denis Sullivan, a 138-foot schooner home-ported in Milwaukee, will sail from Oswego to Sodus Bay. Soon the Summer Reading programs will begin at the libraries and the fun of all the events that go with them. I hope this summer is going to be a nice one, not like last year when it was so wet you had to make plans around umbrellas and tents. Of course, if you have a Senior going to college, the fun is just beginning, isn't it? Have fun , enjoy each other. If you have any events youd like to share or summer recipes please send them along to me at Have a great week.
