Jamboree in Newark Sunday

Newark VFW Post 2883 will host the AVSO Jamboree and barbecue this Sunday afternoon, May 22.

Tickets are available at the VFW, Newark Diner, and Burnham's Red Rooster for the event. Location is VFW Post 2883 on East Union Street; events run from 1 to 7 p.m.

BBQ chicken and pulled pork dinners are priced at $6.50 for adults, and Children 12 and under, $4.50. Serving is from 1-6 p.m.

The Jamboree is hosted by 'Tandee and Gary Jones,' formerly with the band 'Flashback.' Also appearing will be 'Tandee & Dave,' 'Country Pleasure,' 'Michael' and 'Reflections.'

The Jamboree donation is $3 each or $5 per couple. Children 12 and under are $1.

There will be several raffles, and door prizes. The American Veterans Service Organization (AVSO) invites you to participate, enjoy good food and great entertainment, all to benefit the veterans.
