New Web site for County Recycling How does a public service organization reach the residents of a county where no single newspaper or group of television stations or clutch of radio stations reaches all the people? A Web site is one method that is easily available to many people. For the Western Finger Lakes Authority, the address is The WFLA has maintained a site for several years. Recently the WFLA contracted with a web site designer to do some remodeling. 'The change is remarkable,' said Sharon Lilla, Administrator of the Western Finger Lakes Authority. 'People who go to our Web site will be able to access a lot more information in a very readable format.' Marjorie Torelli, Public Relations/Education Coordinator added, 'The look is crisp and clean. In addition to local information, people can get Gee Whiz recycling information.' The site provides links to many other interesting sites. The Web site has sections on residential recycling and business recycling. It has information on what happens to materials collected for recycling. Easy links provide access to local, state and national sites. Visitors can access town and village sites in Wayne County. The site includes a link to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. 'National sites like the National Recycling Coalition are also easily accessed through the WFLA site. Another new feature has information about materials that are difficult to recycle or dispose of. Residents often call with questions about materials that we do not collect in the Blue Boxes,' added Torelli. 'Now the web site has information about things like propane tanks, books, and furniture.'
