Lyons Scouts have Cookie Sale Kick-off A Cookie Kick-off is an event held for all the Girl Scout troops to gather together for an evening of fun and to promote Girl Scout Cookie Sales. It is held the evening before Cookie Sales officially start. The Lyons Cookie Kick-Off consisted of different 'stations' for the girls to visit. In one station, Studio 2B Girl Scouts helped the Troop Leader teach the younger Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts about Cookie Selling Safety through songs. In another station, the girls played games that they would need to work together as a group in order to win. The Registered Girl Scout Adults all helped to create the most anticipated station which was the science lab! In the science lab, the girls had to be brave and put their hand into a box and see if they could tell what 'body part' was in it! Cooked cauliflower made for a great brain! Jell-O was a squishy liver, amazingly cut up hot dogs made great fingers and noses. Peeled grapes felt just like eyeballs! Pudding with olives made up a stomach and spaghetti made for great intestines! The girls (and adults) loved it! While the girls enjoyed their fun activities the parents had a meeting to get them just as excited about cookie sales. Safety rules were reviewed, A Cookie Clue Exploration game was also played, to see who knew the different kinds of Girl Scout Cookies that are sold. In every box of cookies sold there's Confidence, Responsibility, Teamwork, Perseverance, Leadership, and Success that the girls learn through cookie sales. The Lyons Girl Scout Service Unit had an exciting and fun evening to Kick-Off their Cookie Sales. To purchase cookies, call Lyons Unit Manager Laurie Long at 946.6146. Copyright
