Pultneyville FD gets grant

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced 145 grants to fire departments throughout the United States, through an Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFGP).

The AFG program will issue 5500 awards worth $600 million in direct assistance to firefighters and first responders throughout the country, demonstrating Homeland Security's commitment to ensuring that America's firefighters have the resources they need to protect their communities.

Receiving a $40,831 grant for Operations and Safety is the Pultneyville Fire Company.

'With these funds, we ensure our nation's firefighters have the basic capabilities to save lives and protect communities across America,' said Charlie Dickinson, Deputy Administrator of the Department of Homeland Security's United States Fire Administration.
