Volunteers needed for museum projects

The Museum of Wayne County History, 21 Butternut Street, Lyons, is seeking volunteers for two projects.

On Wednesday, November 16, volunteers will help preserve and organize books in the museum's reference library. Over 800 books have been catalogued and are in need of book covers and shelf labels. The books then need to be sorted and shelved.

On Monday, November 28, volunteers will help decorate the museum in preparation for the next exhibition: 'A Victorian Holiday.' Trees, garlands, and ornaments will be put up in the parlor, hallway staircase and other rooms. Additional 'Victorian' ornaments would be welcomed.

Both volunteer days provide an excellent opportunity to support the community while making new friends. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and end around 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided. All 2005 volunteers will be honored at a museum brunch on Sunday, December 4.
