Plays to be staged at the Ohmann Rehearsals are underway for We Give Thanks: an Evening of One Act plays by Jay D. Hanagan which will be performed November 25 and 26 at 7:30 and Nov. 27 at 2, at Ohmann Theatre, 65 William Street, Lyons. Lyons residents Stuart Smart and Valerie VanStean are 'Hector and Harriet in Helsinki.' Laughter ensues when these two middle age American tourists visiting Helsinki discover their wallet gone; Lyons High School sophomore Lucas Quagliata jumps into 'Boy I Wonder,' a comedy farce that takes off when a mild mannered office worker gets the urge to be ... Clark Kentson!; 'Philophobia' and 'Philophobia Too' are parts of a hilarious comedy about two people, played by Lyons residents Kayla Davis and Ryan Evans, who get stuck in an elevator; and Newark resident Adolfo Arango plays in 'Stars,' a heartwarming monologue about a man reminiscing the loss of his father. At the helm of these one-act plays is award winning director Larry Ann Evans. Evans was awarded an outstanding directing award by the Theatre Association of New York State for her work on Foibles another of Hanagan's award-winning plays. We are extremely thankful for having such a talented playwright right next door, in Geneva. Evans said, 'Jay's plays are winning awards all over the country, being produced in New York City and quickly being scooped up by all the most prestigious publishing houses. We are also thankful to Bob Ohmann and what he has done for this town by opening back up this historic theatre. That's actually how I came up with the title for the evening We Give Thanks.' Tickets are $10 adults and $8 dollars for seniors and will be available in Lyons at Dobbins Drugs Store, Old Lyons Hardware and online. Copyright
