Happenings November 24, 1883: - Turkey time indeed - About ten tons of turkeys were bought and shipped this week by the farm of J. Heslor and Company, of Marion. A Thanksgiving Day service is planned at St. Gregory's Church, Thursday at 9:30 a.m. This is for parishioners of St. Gregory's, St. Anne's and St. Patrick's. 'Turkey Hop' in the high school auditorium. The seniors are giving a live turkey at the dance and the decorations will be in the Thanksgiving spirit.
