Happenings November 24, 1883: - Turkey time indeed - About ten tons of turkeys were bought and shipped this week by the farm of J. Heslor and Company, of Marion. Carl Van Camp is recuperating following corrective shoulder surgery. It is time to be baking your fruit cakes for the upcoming holidays. A Thanksgiving Day service is planned at St. Gregory's Church, Thursday at 9:30 a.m. This is for parishioners of St. Gregory's, St. Anne's and St. Patrick's. 'Turkey Hop' in the high school auditorium. The seniors are giving a live turkey at the dance and the decorations will be in the Thanksgiving spirit.
