Sodus Lioness Club special breakfast On Saturday, December 3, the Sodus Lioness Club is presenting Breakfast With Santa at the United Third Methodist Church, corner of Belden and Main streets. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 10:30. The cost of the breakfast is $15 per family (pre-sale only) or $5 for adults and $3 for children, at the door. Kids two and under will be admitted free. To obtain pre-sale tickets for the breakfast, call 483.8061. Lioness members will serve you pancakes, sausage, and a special breakfast casserole, accompanied by hot and cold beverages. A visit with Santa will be the highlight, and photos with Santa will be available for an optional donation. In addition to a visit with Santa, face painting will be available to the children. The Sodus Lions Club will be at the breakfast with their high-tech vision screening camera. This camera has found many children in the Sodus area who had undiagnosed vision problems. In most cases, the treatment these children receive now will prevent far greater vision problems later. All children in kindergarten and pre-k in Sodus are currently screened (with written parental permission) but the breakfast brings younger children and children from other districts who haven't had access to a vision screening. In general, the younger the child, the better chance for finding and correcting vision problems. The procedure takes five minutes and involves taking two Polaroid-type pictures of the child's eyes. The tests are administered by local Lion and Lioness club members. Stop at the baked food/snack sale, featuring fudge, fruit breads, snack mixes and many other traditional Christmas goodies. Proceeds from the breakfast and bake sale are used to fund the many community projects that this very active club of area women participate in throughout the year.
