Paulsen, Baker & Garvey to play at Museum The First Fridays at the Museum series continues this Friday, October 7, from 5-8 p.m. at the Museum of Wayne County History, 21 Butternut Street, Lyons. Paulsen Baker & Garvey will be performing a wide range of music. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served, and museum tours will be given. John Paulsen and Keith Baker started performing professionally in the Spring of 1974 as 'Paulsen & Baker.' John Garvey joined them in the autumn of that year, and they became 'Paulsen, Baker & Garvey.' The band's tight three-part harmonies include music from the Kingston Trio, James Taylor, the country sounds of Waylon & Willie, and great rock & roll from the Beatles to the Eagles. Their wide range of instruments and vocal diversity produces the band's unique sound. John Paulsen's ballads, banjo, and fiddle tunes, Keith Baker's sweet voice and quick wit, and John Garvey's resonant bass voice produce a synergy, a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Last year the band celebrated 25 years of Good Time Music with their newest CD, 'Silver Linings.' The First Friday at the Museum series is made possible in part through a generous grant from the Robert G. Boehmler Community Foundation. Admission is $5. Museum members are FREE.
