Museum presents 'History at Night' The Museum of Wayne County History is resuming its popular History at Night series on Thursday, October 13, at 7 p.m. Museum educator Erin Cushman will present 'All Hallows Eve: The Origins of Halloween.' This presentation will explore the development of this celebration among the ancient Celtic people and the rise of traditions in America. It will also explain the meanings of popular Halloween symbols such as the black cat and the jack-o-lantern. The museum is located at 21 Butternut Street in Lyons and is housed in the former county jail. This event is free and open to the public. Cider and doughnuts will be served.
