October 18, 2-7 p.m., American Red Cross Blood Drive at Marion American Legion Home on Witherden Road.

United Church is having a chicken and biscuits dinner, with home-made pies, Monday, Oct. 24 at 4:30 at the church on North Main Street.

Richards Chapter #558 of the Order of the Eastern Star celebrated its 91st birthday on October 5 at the Masonic Lodge. R.W. Donna Hiler, District Deputy Grand Matron, presented a gift to the Chapter for collecting the most pennies in a contest to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. After the meeting they enjoyed a 'Chinese Auction' and birthday cake and ice cream.

Do you remember .... When you got your windshield cleaned, oil checked and gas pumped, without asking, all for free, every time? And you didn't pay for air? And, you got trading stamps to boot?

There is a rumor that a new restaurant may be opening in town!

It's soccer season! One way to stay warm is to bake a potato and carry it in your pocket. Warm hands!!
