Visit the Haunted Jail Visitors who have seen the 1856 county jail at the Museum of Wayne County History know how creepy it is. Two-foot-thick walls, creaking iron doors, dim lighting and claustrophobic cells inspire chills in the bravest souls. On Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29, it will be even creepier! Only the brave will be able to wander through the jail. Rats, bats and spiders will abound. 'Inmates' will be hiding around every corner. The light will be dimmer, screams from the past will be heard reverberating through the stone cells, and the doors will not be the only creaking sounds heard. Admission to the haunted jail is $2. Cider and doughnuts will be served to those who make it out alive! Doors will creak open at 5 p.m. and slam shut at 8 p.m. Those brave enough to enter the jail should bring a friend for a hand to squeeze.
