Retired educators met in Wolcott The Wayne County Retired Teachers' Association held their Fall Luncheon at the Wolcott Elks Lodge on October 11. They enjoyed coffee and donuts during the social hour while listening to music played by retiree Don Hunt on the keyboard. President Jay Ramsey welcomed Wayne County retirees and several guests from the Central Western Zone of New York State Retired Teachers. Special recognition was given to the new retirees. David Scott was the only new retiree in attendance. Retired teachers Jim and Carol May presented an excellent program about their bicycle trip from California to Williamson. They used a slide show accompanied by several human-interest stories to tell the group about this trip. Autographed copies of their book, Bicycle Odyssey, A Pilgrimage to Discover the Real America were available. Following the meeting, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch served by the Elks lodge. Lunch was followed by entertainment by the North Rose-Wolcott High School Select Choir under the direction of Kristine Stevens. The Wayne County Retired Teachers' Association meets twice a year. The next meeting will be on June 6.
