Collecting items for Katrina victims

Items collected in Wayne County will be taken by trucks to the Hurricane Katrina refugees, on Sept. 16.

You may drop off requested items at:

  • Wolcott Police Department and Village Offices, 6015 New Hartford Street, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Lyons Community Center, Manhattan Street, 8 to 8
  • Clyde Fire Department on Ford Street
  • Newark Police Department, 100 East Miller, 8 to 8.

Clothing items: all sizes of women's underwear, sports bras, T-shirts, and socks, men's underwear, T-shirts and sock, all sizes children's underwear and clothing - NEW CLOTHING ONLY.

Toiletries: toilet paper, tooth brushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, disposable razors, Q-tips, sanitary napkins, hair combs

First Aid supplies: Band-Aids, bandages, anti-bacterial creams, aspirin, Tylenol, alcohol swabs, small first aid kits

Food supplies: bottled water, Gatorade, baby formula, powdered milk, peanut butter, boxed food goods, crackers, cereal, beef jerky, non-perishable items.

Misc. items: flashlights, batteries, plastic silverware, paper plates, paper towels, garbage bags, stuffed animals, new pillows, new blankets, new towels

(NO USED CLOTHING, NO CANNED GOODS, NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ACCEPTED)
