Red Cross courses

The goal of National Preparedness Month is to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing fro disasters and emergencies and to encourage individuals to take action by getting trained in CPR and First Aid.

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding a First Aid Basics class on Saturday, September 17 from 9 to 1 at the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark.

An Adult CPR/AED course will be held Tuesday, September 20 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the chapter office located at 165 East Union Street in Newark.

Adult CPR and First Aid Basics teach participants fundamental principles and skills of first aid and accident prevention and recognizing and caring for breathing emergencies and heart attacks. This training prepares students to care for most injuries and to meet typical emergency needs while awaiting the arrival of professional help. Class sizes are limited.
