J&P display at museum

A special display of Jackson & Perkins memorabilia will be shown through the month of September at the Newark-Arcadia Historical Museum.

Jackson & Perkins Co. was founded on High St. in Newark in 1872. The World's Largest Rose Growers made Newark The Rose Capital of America. Their rose gardens on South Main St. attracted millions of people from 1947 to 1971.

The museum is open Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m. (through Sept.), and Saturdays, 1-3 p.m. (all year), at 120 High St. (across from the library), Newark. Admission is free.
