pumpkin train

What a beautiful weekend. We came out to visit and it was a perfect day to be out and about. It was fun to go to the beach and watch a few people walk along the beach with the kids. It was so pretty and peaceful. Then, to see a few of the places with pumpkins was nice, as well. Burnap's has a cute fall display with the giant pumpkin and train beside it.

I received a note from Beth Palmer about the Shelter Boxes:

ShelterBox accepts donations for less than $900 for a complete Box. Smaller donations are pooled until we have enough for a complete Box. Each participant is informed the ID # of this Box so they can track it on our website

www.shelterboxusa.org

This is also a good source for additional information. Credit card donations can be made on the website and checks can be sent to the address below. We have a total of 1200 ShelterBoxes in LA and MS providing emergency shelter for survivors, rescue personnel and volunteers. Some 600 of these Boxes are yet unsponsored, so we are looking for donations to repay the generousity of the ShelterBox Trust in sending them for our use before proper sponsorship was obtained.

Thanks for your interest and support of ShelterBox.

A different kind of recipe from Betty Crocker:

Banana Split Cake

1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist white cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for in cake mix directions for Whole-Egg Recipe
1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium)
3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 container (15 oz.) Betty Crocker Pour & Frost chocolate frosting

Heat oven to 350F. Grease or spray bottom only of 13x9-inch rectangular pan. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs and mashed bananas on low speed 30 seconds; beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into pan.

Bake 38 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Microwave frosting uncovered on High 20 seconds. Stir thoroughly or until smooth. Pour over warm cake; spread evenly. If desired, serve each piece with banana slices, whipped topping, Betty Crocker rainbow mix decorating decors and a cherry.
