Open house in Marbletown Experience the sights and sounds of a one-room school as the Marbletown Schoolhouse, corner of Miller and Marbletown Roads, in Arcadia, opens wide its doors in welcome for an Open House October 1 and October 2, from 1-4 p.m. Featured inside will be a continuously running slide presentation depicting all 19 of the one-room schools that were in the Arcadia school district; an exhibit of locally made quilts, some on loan from the quilters of the Park Presbyterian Church and two from the Newark-Arcadia Museum, one made especially for the museum by the Kelley School 4th Grade Class of 2005. Also on display will be school books from the Marbletown Schoolhouse library collection, featuring very early editions from when the Schoolhouse was built in the late 1800's to the time of its closing in 1947. Refreshments will be served to visitors both afternoons.
