April 1939 - School News - One of the sure signs of spring is the marble playing that takes place during the noon hour and before and after school. Roller skating is also one of the favorite noon-hour activities which is just now becoming popular now. Happy 67th Wedding Anniversary Wishes to Ernest and Lena Boss on April 10. If you see Marion School Bus #1 - be sure to wave - our grandson Craig is on that bus! Dear Carolyn: - Wanted to write a 'thank you to Marion' and finding it nearly impossible. Thought I'd just write a news article for your column. You know it was devasting after Dave's sudden death, but the support and concern of our friends, neighbors, and customers helped me in the weeks, months, and year after. We made Marion our home in 1970 after Andy was born and brought Laura home to North Main St. two years later. In 1980, I opened The Leaning Barn Antiques & Gifts, closing in December 2005. I will miss Marion, but want everyone to know I am happily settling in my new home in Fort Johnson, NY. The joy of seeing my grandsons everyday has been amazing! Many thanks, and I will be back once in a while!
