At Lyons Farmers' Market

Take a free walking tour of Erie Canal sites in Lyons with a guide from the Museum of Wayne County History this coming Saturday, August 5. Meet at the bandstand in the park at 9 a.m.

While at the Market, treat your sweet tooth to some goodies from the Lyons Methodist Bake Sale. There will also be the regular American, Amish and Austrian baked goods to tempt your palate.

The Market celebrates its 32nd Anniversary on August 12 with music by Jim Murphy, cake and door prizes. Each vendor will be donating some of their wares for the prizes. Sign up and win! The Lyons Heritage Society will also be hosting a bake sale that day.

During the month of August the Market features many fruits and vegetables, including beans of all types, tomatoes, basil, summer squashes, peaches, blueberries, chard, garlic, peppers, sweet corn and more. Look for heirloom veggies like Brandywine tomatoes and Italian pole beans - things you can't find in your local grocery store. Support Wayne County farmers, bakers and crafters each week through October from 7:30 to 11 a.m. around Lyons Village Park.
