Pickin' and strummin' Sunday at the Point

Tim Allan will return to perform at the Sodus Point Lighthouse Summer Concert Series on Sunday, August 6 from 2-4 p.m.

Allan is unsurpassed in his proficiency on the banjo, guitar and mandolin. Accompanied by his baritone voice, he presents an almost endless repertoire of crowd pleasing music.

Tim has played his banjo and guitar around the world - on ships, at clubs and theatres, on television and radio, and on several recordings. Tim began playing professional banjo engagements at age sixteen and in 1978 he was invited the to sing bass and play banjo, mandolin, and guitar on CBC television's popular 'Tommy Hunter Show.'

Tim appeared as a cast member on this program for 14 seasons until it ended in 1992. Aside from television taping, Tim continued to do studio work for radio and television commercials as well as television and movie soundtracks. He has appeared with such headliners as Reba McIntyre, Glen Campbell, and Roy Clark. He has numerous tape and CD recordings and has been a major contributor to Banjo publications for over twenty five years.

When he is not entertaining he can be found teaching and composing music. On May 23, 2002, Tim Allan was inducted into the National Four-String Banjo Hall of Fame Museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
